I got skype and love it….yes, its worth it….but also remember your receptions and echo problem stem usually from a crappy ISP….

yes skype is part of the VOIP phones, which to me is the only way forward..
you pay for broadband & also a landline phone….
Voip phones uses just the broadband at a cheaper rate how great is that

i have not yet used skype, i am thinking about getting a wifi skype phone, and using a EV-DO wifi router inside my veichle to replace my cell phone, but have not yet done so..
i have heard pretty decent things about skype, but this info is second hand.. I assume as the price of skype it is not one of the better quality VoIP services available, as for about 50 with skype in and skype out you can get service for a whole year, but compare that with the cost of one month for land line service, or 2 months of standard VoIP service, and it sounds like a pretty good alternitive.. only downside is you need to purchace the adapter, but by the end of the year you still end up saving at least 50% from the next lowest cost soloution..

I would suggest ‘Vonage’. If you have broadband and a router you can make unlimited calls local, national and international for only £7.99 a month with no line rental etc.There is a small set up fee.
Once setup you have many options on line and you can keep tags on your calls. I have my calls transferred to my mobile if I am away from home. http://www.vonage.co.uk
Take a look and read peoples comments, i use it and have no complaints.
