I WAS LOOKING FOR A VOIP PROVIDER AND WANT TO GET OPINIONS. I HAVE HAD VONAGE BEFORE AND THEY SUCKED!?
I have dual computers using off a WRG54G Linksys router with speeds up 3.0 w At&t. we have dual dungeon phones on this router as well, if which creates a difference.

I have AT&T as good as in my digest i have free calls to any one with an AT&T Cell so what if a cave im pursuit is AT&T yet is longdistance Do i still get charged for longdistance or is it free?

If you want opinions on a VoIP provider, you are best to look at one of the VoIP provider review sites out there. They list practically every provider you can imagine, with detailed user reviews for each one. There are several sites out there like this but the ones that come to mind are VoIP Review and MyVoipProvider.

this site http://www.att.com/gen/isp?pid=2706 obviouslly has a type-o it should show Kbps instead of Mbps
now 2 cell phones on this connection – I assume that you mean you are one of the people to pay for a femocell so that you could have a mini “cell tower” in your home – using your internet connection… allowing other cell phones that you do not own to connect to this “cell tower” using your internet to place cellular calls when there is no signal to a cell tower (read the fine print, most femocell agreements allow upto 3 or more cell phones to connect – even if they are not your phones)
not sure that DSL would be sufficient to allow 3 or 4 simultaneous VoIP connections (if you are using a femocell for your cell phone – those are connected via VoIP to the cellular network) plus your normal internet traffic… I would recommend upgrading to a cable modem where you can get speeds starting around 25Mbps/2Mbps upto 101Mbps/20Mbps….
vonage should have worked fine for you, you might have needed to adjust some of the settings in your router for optimal performance… http://voipguides.blogspot.com/ has lots of good info on different VoIP services.. . but just off the bat – all of the reviews for OOMA that I have seen have been very positive, and it is a one time charge for lifetime service…

You must need some updates because I have had Vontage for over 5 years and no problems. A few years ago they walked me threw a problem and once ever few mo’s I reset my box and that has fixed it everytime. I also have a much cheaper one that sucks big time it claims 20.oo a year well if I can ever get the bugs out of it we will see but so far nothing helps it ,so forget it. . Talk to Vontage and tell them what your problem is. I live in an area that uses old cable wire and it still works fine.

That is suprising because I’ve heard really good things about Vonage. If you’re looking for business VoIP I would recommend FreedomIQ: http://www.freedomiq.com , but if you need more of a residential focus I feel like you’re stuck with Vonage or Skype.
