HOW DO YOU CALL SKYPE FROM A LANDLINE ?

Whoever is giving all the good Skype responses here a thumbs-down is obviously anti-Skype. (likely a MJ or ACN fan)
I have used Skype for years now. And, for the most part it is a good service.
To use Skype, you need a good highspeed Internet connection.

You will need to have a good headset with built-in microphone for best results.
Once installed, you can talk to any other Skype user, for free.

If you want family and friends to call you on your Skype softphone, from their regular phone, or cell, then you just need to purchase “SkypeIn Service. Pick the area code number of your choice. It should be in the same area code you want family and friends to call your from. That way they call you free because it is a local call for them. If you are not at your PC when the Skype phone calls come in, their calls will go to your Voice Mail. Then you can hear their voice mails next time you are at the PC or start-up Skype

The Skype user should buy a phone number, once bought you’ll be able t ocall them just like any other phone number, Where they answer the call is wither the computer or a skype phone. You get to pick your phone number ! You can even buy phone numbers in other countries to keep the cost of calling internationally down. I use Skype as my main line since the rest of my family ties up the main line talking all day. They offer phones that you can use to talk other than using the computer.

Once you have downloaded and installed Skype, go to skype.com on your web browser, and then go to their skype-in service (they also have skype-out, where you can call landline phones via skype application). There, you select an area code and you will be given a phone number. It makes sense if you select an area code in the country / city your family lives, that way they pay little or nothing for calling you.

You need to sign up for “SkypeIn.” Skype will assign you a phone number that your family can call, which will ring your computer. SkypeIn is not a free service, but it is inexpensive compared to standard landlines.

no..you just need to call a number and write down what shows up on the caller id
